Hydrauli-Flex Hoses Power Critical Foundation Work for 3rd & 3rd Project in St. Petersburg

One of the standout projects we’ve contributed to is the 3rd & 3rd residential development in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida. This ambitious project not only promises to transform the city’s skyline, but it also highlights the essential role of our hoses in powering the heavy machinery that laid the foundation for the towering structure.
In 2022, developers Third Lake Capital and Echelon unveiled plans for the 33-story 3rd & 3rd building, set to become one of the tallest in St. Petersburg. The development includes 268 luxury apartments, retail spaces, and impressive amenities. With construction slated for completion by early 2026, the project is already making waves in the city’s growth.
To ensure the 375-foot tower rests on a solid foundation, Bauer Construction was tasked with handling the critical foundation work. Working within the tight constraints of a busy urban environment, Bauer used an ICE® 110 Vibratory Hammer from International Construction Equipment, Inc. (ICE®) to drive massive steel caissons deep into the ground. This powerful machinery was key to stabilizing the foundation for such a high-rise building.
Our Hydrauli-Flex Hoses played a vital role in ensuring the ICE® 110 operated at peak efficiency. Designed to handle extreme pressure and challenging conditions, our hoses delivered the reliable hydraulic power necessary to support Bauer Construction’s precise pile-driving operations. With our hoses at the helm, the ICE® 110 was able to carry out the work with minimal disruption to the surrounding area and in accordance with the project’s tight timelines.
By late 2024, Bauer successfully completed the foundation work, marking a major milestone for the 3rd & 3rd project. The development will not only enhance the skyline of St. Petersburg but also provide much-needed residential and retail spaces, furthering the city’s growth and modernization.
