The I-8V2 Diesel Impact Hammer, known for its compact size and efficiency, was perfect for installing 10” diameter and 30’ long timber piles for the new ramp. As part of the International Construction Equipment, Inc. (ICE®) family, the I-8V2 is renowned for its power and versatility on smaller-scale projects like this one. It provided just the right amount of force to install the piles quickly, while saving both time and money for the contractors.
In addition, the ICE® 416L Vibratory Driver/Extractor was employed to drive fiberglass sheets along the sides of the ramp. These sheets, designed as wave accentuators, serve an important purpose: to reduce the impact of oncoming waves. As waves pass over and under the attenuators, their size is naturally diminished, preventing damage to the ramp and the surrounding environment.
