The Beaver River Bridge reconstruction, located in North Sewickley Township, Homewood Borough, and Big Beaver Borough, represents a vital upgrade to the Pennsylvania Turnpike’s infrastructure. This $270 million project involves replacing the Mainline Bridge over the Beaver River and widening two miles of the turnpike’s east-west mainline (Interstate 76) between Mileposts 12 and 14. Upon completion, this stretch will feature six 12-foot travel lanes (three in each direction), 12-foot shoulders, and 10-foot medians, significantly enhancing traffic flow and safety.

To ensure a strong and stable foundation for the new bridge, they partnered with International Construction Equipment, Inc. (ICE®) to drive steel pipe piles deep into the bedrock. At the core of this operation is the ICE® Model 66 Vibratory Hammer, a powerhouse tool delivering 245 tons of driving force at a maximum frequency of 1,600 VPM.
