The reconstruction of Interstate 69 between Evansville and Indianapolis has been decades in the making. Spanning 142 miles, this $4-billion project connects communities, enhances infrastructure, and creates opportunities across the state. The final stretch, known as the I-69 Finish Line, involves 26 miles of new interstate highway, 35 miles of local access roads, and the expansion of I-465. This section promises to save drivers time, reduce accidents, and boost Indiana’s economy by an estimated $4.1 billion over the next two decades.
In this monumental effort, Walsh Construction partnered with International Construction Equipment (ICE®), using advanced tools like the ICE® I-19 Diesel Impact Hammer and the ICE® 110C Vibratory Driver/Extractor. These machines relied on the unmatched performance of Hydrauli-Flex hoses to drive massive piles for bridge foundations, ensuring the integrity of the infrastructure for generations to come.
