Hydrauli-Flex Powers Critical Infrastructure at the Port of Baltimore

At Hydrauli-Flex, we were proud to support the transformative infrastructure work at the Port of Baltimore, one of the nation's busiest seaports. During the COVID-19 pandemic, as ships were diverted to Baltimore due to other ports' limitations, we played a role in a $200 million marine construction project that was essential to maintaining the flow of commerce and enhancing the port's capacity.

Our hoses powered the renowned ICE® 44B Vibratory Pile Driver/Extractor, a critical piece of equipment chosen by Cianbro for the foundation work.

The 44B is a titan in the pile driving industry, with a powerful driving force capable of handling diverse soil conditions and foundation applications.

For this project, it was used to drive 30” pipe piles, forming the foundation template for key infrastructure upgrades at the port.

The template created by these caissons, later filled with rebar and concrete, provided a solid foundation for the heavy marine work. The ICE® 44B’s precision and power made it ideal for this job, and our durable, high-performance hydraulic hoses played a key role in ensuring that the equipment operated smoothly and efficiently throughout the project.

As the Port of Baltimore continued its expansion efforts, our team at Hydrauli-Flex remained committed to delivering reliable hydraulic solutions for the toughest construction challenges. By partnering with ICE®, we helped build a stronger, more capable seaport, ultimately contributing to the creation of over 150,000 jobs and generating more than $3 billion in revenue annually.
