Hydrauli-Flex: Supporting Excellence at the Buckeye Terminal

Recently, our partnership with ICE® Equipment has been pivotal in the expansion of the Buckeye, LLP Terminal in Jacksonville, FL. This expansion not only enhances docking capabilities but also facilitates the increased movement of liquid petroleum products, a necessity as the spring and summer travel seasons approach.

Enhancing Docking Capabilities

The Buckeye Terminal plays a crucial role in the import and export of oil, and the improvements made to its docking locations are a significant step forward. With the rising demand for liquid petroleum products, it’s essential that terminals operate efficiently. The recent project involved the addition of three new dolphins designed specifically to improve mooring for oil carrier vessels. Two mooring dolphins allow for ships to dock and unload more conveniently, while a new breasting dolphin provides an added layer of protection from potential collisions.

Cutting-Edge Equipment

Central to this ambitious project was the use of the ICE® I-125 diesel pile driver, a powerhouse of an equipment that successfully drove 66-inch diameter caissons up to 120 feet in length. The I-125’s capabilities allowed the Orion Marine Group to drive piles to grade without needing to swap out equipment, saving valuable time and enabling crews to navigate the challenges posed by heavy ship traffic and strong currents.
