Revitalizing Graham Pond Harbour: A Partnership for Progress

With over 35 years of wear and tear on the original sheet piling, the need for replacement was pressing. The decision to replace the old AZ-26-400 sheet piles using the advanced ICE® 28D vibratory hammer was a game changer.

The challenge was significant. Pulling the old sheet piles all at once could lead to dangerous erosion, threatening the very foundation of the wharf. Gaudette's team brilliantly devised a plan to remove two sheets at a time, replacing them immediately to mitigate soil exposure. This innovative method, combined with the efficiency of the ICE® equipment, enabled them to drive new piles in pairs and maintain alignment with precise welds.
The results were impressive: the team managed to drive a pair of 45' sheets in just 20 minutes, shortening their project timeline by nearly five weeks. This significant reduction in time not only saved costs but also ensured the harbour could return to full operational capacity sooner, benefiting local fishers and the broader community.
